Loxam becomes first french equipment rental company to join IPAF
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been at the heart of Loxam’s priorities for its entire 50-year existence. In the area of safety, the Loxam Group takes every measure to advise, inform and educate its customers and employees in adhering to best practices. To go a step further in its CSR commitment, Loxam is today becoming a full member of IPAF (International Powered Access Federation), a first in the equipment rental sector in France.
A binding initiative
Set up in 1983, IPAF is an international not-for-profit members’ organisation that represents the interests of Powered Access Equipment manufacturers, distributors, users, rental and training companies, and promotes the safe and effective use of this type of equipment. With representations in 59 countries and boasting a membership in excess of 1,200, IPAF plays a key role in promoting many of the design, safety and testing procedures that are now established in this sector.
Loxam Access director Alice Henault explained the Group’s thinking.
“We see that IPAF is really helping the business in the UK and other countries where we are members. Now is the time to be an IPAF member in France. Safety is a challenge, and it is part of our job to promote safety. We are going to work together with IPAF to reinforce our preventive measures in all areas.”
Safety: a key priority
Preventing accidents by informing customers and employees about the right security measures to take is a priority for the Group.
In addition to training, Loxam also produces a number of educational guides and tools to help people understand how machines operate.
In powered access, Loxam has for example designed a specific brochure to provide the user with as much technical information as possible about booms, platforms, telehandlers and other powered access systems.
